Building Care Together

We are Building Care Together

For the first time in 25 years, Victoria has a new hospital.

At the Victoria Hospitals Foundation, we are continuing our tradition of supporting excellence in health care with our third and most ambitious campaign: Building Care Together. Our goal is to raise $25 million to purchase state-of-the-art equipment and technology for the new Patient Care Centre at Royal Jubilee Hospital, which opened on March 13, 2011.

The 500-bed-capacity, eight storey facilty “is a quantum leap forward in supporting patient care, especially elder care, and unlike any other facility in the world,” says Howard Waldner, President and CEO of the Vancouver Island Health Authority. With 80 per cent private patient rooms, superior infection control measures, and an abundance of natural light and fresh air, our new hospital provides an environment that speeds healing and improves the patient experience.

While Building Care Together officially kicked off on January 19, 2011, our support for the new facility began last fall with fundraising for the high-tech “Smart Beds” in every patient room. Our fundraising to purchase Smart Beds is still underway — to make a gift please call 250-519-1750 or visit our donation page.

Together, we will transform the future of health care!
